Earned Income Tax Credit

Turbo Tax keeps telling us that we are eligible for EITC, but we are not. Even though our Social Security benefits are not taxable and therefore not included in AGI, they still are counted when determining eligibility for EITC. Turbo Tax keeps insisting that we are eligible.  How do I correct this?

The criteria changed for EIC for 2021 returns, so don't be so sure you do not qualify if you had some earned income from working---the age limit of 65 for getting EIC was removed.

According to the

Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Assistant

on the IRS.GOV, we are not eligible because of our earned income plus SSA benefits.
