When I originally started my taxes it asked if I wanted to use my earned income from 2019 I said yes. But now I’m seeing that there isn’t anything in item line 27a for EIC. Why is that and what do I do to change it now that I’ve already submitted my taxes? My income was more in 2019 than 2021 by a little over $2000.

You cannot make changes to a filed return. If your return has been accepted by the IRS, then you have to file an amended return (1040X) to make changes. But please wait until your refund or payment is processed. Please be aware that you can e-file your 2021 amended federal tax return, but most states require amendments to be printed and filed by mail. Please see How to amend a tax return for instructions (this will be updated once the 2021 Form 1040-X is ready).

Please review What are the qualifications for the Earned Income Credit to see if you qualify to claim the Earned Income Credit (EIC).
