Hello Everyone,

Need some tax advice. I am on F-1 visa and my wife is F-2 visa (wife no SSN but has ITIN).  I am 'resident alien for tax purpose' since 2021 and we have been filing as 'married filing jointly' since then . On October, 2023 we have applied for green card (application now in AOS) and my wife will get her SSN sometime early 2024.

My question is: If my wife has SSN in 2024 before I file tax return, should we be eligible for EITC?

Thanks in Advance

@IR2516    Do NOT file your return before the SS# is issued or you will lose the credit on an amended return.  Put the return on extension if necessary but don't file the return.
