Energy Credit

I claimed an energy credit on a hybrid water heater a few years ago.  I broke in 2023 and the manufacturer sent a replacement under warranty; however, I had to pay $999 for reinstallation.  Can I claim an energy credit on the reinstallation of this again?

No.  Labor alone is not a qualifying expense.  In order to claim the labor on the water heater, you would have to have a qualifying product that you purchased along with the labor to get the credit.  This would be more of a maintenance/repair expense which would not qualify for the credit.
