Energy Efficient House Improvement Credit
In doing desk top turbo taxes, with a federal tax payment due of $905, when I enter Energy Efficient House Improvement Tax Credit for heat pump ($14,500.0000) after entering all the information correctly, it says $0. You are not eligible for energy tax credit or carryover 2025. I feel that I am entitled to a $2000. tax credit. I don't get it. IRS Website clearly states that this tax credit should apply to my tax situation. I assume interrupting this credit that owing the IRS $905, would be brought down to $0. on my Federal Return, and that the balance of the $1095. would not apply & no carry over for 2025. I checked Energy Credit form 5695 & work sheets, $2000. credit showing up there on line 29 but not giving me any credit on Federal Tax Return. I think maybe a program update is in order to fix this entry problem. Please review current 2024 Turbo Tax desk top software & ensure program is up to date with the Federal tax law regarding this issue. Someone else recently posted that they had basically the same problem, and that Turbo Tax would not give them the energy tax credit & they went to Tax Act software and entered the same energy tax credit there, and they got the credit, no problem. Please do a deep investigation on this, so hopefully I don't have to amend my Federal Tax Returns later to get this credit. Thank You. Mike42111
