I had read in the IRS website that you can claim the $7500 credit either in 2022 or 2023, whichever has less AGI even if you purchased the EV in 2023. Turbo tax has it as an error to put my purchase date at 3/22/2023 for filing my 2022 taxes. Does anyone know if we can claim the tax credit for 2022 tax year even if we purchased it on March 2023?

I could not find an IRS reference that gives the 2022 vs 2023 AGI guideline.
