- My wife and I did "married filing separately" for the year 2022 as my wife relocated from Canada to US in sept and didn't have a lot of income.
- So, my wife qualifies for $7500 EV tax credit based on 2022 tax returns
- For 2023, we will be "married filing jointly".
- Will my wife be able to claim EV tax credit while filing taxes (remember, we will file jointly) for the year 2023?

    see Q1:

    https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/topic-b-frequently-asked-questions-about-income-and-price-limitations-for-the-new-clean-vehicle-credit

"If your filing status changes between the preceding year and the current year, you may claim the new clean vehicle credit if your modified AGI is at or below the threshold in the preceding year or current year based on applicable filing status for that year."
