EV Tax Credit IRS Notice 2023 taxes

I completed my taxes using turbotax and had a tax liability of about 15,000.  I had paid a little over 16,000 over the course of 2023 from regular deductions from my pay.  I purchased a Tesla Model 3 at the beginning of 2023 and completed the form on Turbotax to claim the EV credit of 7,500.  My state return (CA) has already been accepted but when I logged on to the IRS2Go app the the refund approved was for 1,470 instead of the original 8970.  Is there something I did wrong? Did this happen to anyone else & if yes, what were your next steps to get the issue fixed?
