My wife started a non-profit LLC for advocacy of mental illness laws and community treatment. Is "advocacy" a type of self-employment work?

Nonprofit implies some sort of status with the IRS. Did she apply for that?

Regardless, she would report on Schedule C (Form 1040) only if she were engaged in an activity that qualifies as a business with the primary purpose being income or profit from that activity.
