WHY WOULD MY REFUND GO DOWN IF I PAID MORE IN FEDERAL TAXES? EX. I PLUGGED IN $1 REFUND WENT UP ABOUT $1,000. PLUGGED IN $1506 AND IT WENT DOWN TREMENDOUSLY . Confused

    No one can see your screen or your tax return.  We have no idea where you are "plugging in" those amounts.  Could you please explain more clearly?

    Attaching screen shots with $0 taxes and $1506 taken so you can see the refund difference.  I don't understand why such a difference in the return HELP. At 1506 dollars in taxes withheld I get less????

    That 2nd screen shot does not show us the words above the higher amount.   But that amount is not in green.   I suspect the difference is that you are looking at a "Tax due" amount there instead of a refund amount.  When you enter the federal tax withheld, then you see a refund in green.

    Your refund would not go down if you paid more in federal taxes (unless you changed your income too which could cause other changes), it would go up.  Are you sure it is not your tax due going up and down?  Are you changing anything else?
