Federal Taxes Werent Taken Out

I received my W-2 from a part time job. I made 9075.00 and had a total of 63.25 taken for my federal taxes. Most of my paychecks that I took home were under $400. There were 2 times last year that I made over the $400 and that's were the 63.25 came in. I claim all zeros on my W4 because I want the most amount of money taken out. I am also Not Exempt on my form either. Why wouldn't my federal taxes be taken out of my paychecks if the most amount should be taken out?

Assuming this is all of the money that you made all year - or that it's all of the money that the withholding table thinks you make - it would appear that at the end of the year, you would have little to no tax liability.

If you are filing your tax return as a single individual and you are not a dependent on another person's tax return, you will have a standard deduction of $12,200 for 2019, so with an income of $9,075, you would have no taxable income and no need for withholding.

If this job is in addition to a full-time job, it is a good idea to adjust your withholding to allow for that. The new Form W-4 allows you to do this, and you can find it here: Form W-4.
