am I able to file exempt on my paychecks and still get a refund.. I am head of household along with 3 children all under the age of 18

    First you should NEVER EVER use the EXEMPT option on a W-4 as that can get you into trouble ... instead increase the withholding allowances to the point where no federal withholding is taken out of your paycheck.

    And IF you qualify for some refundable credits then you can get a refund even if you have no withholding.
