Does a filing extension also extend the deadline for contributing to a traditional IRA?

No.   An extension only gives you more time to prepare your Form 1040 and file it.  Your tax owed needs to be paid by April 15, 2025.  An extension does not give you more time to contribute to an IRA.

No, the deadline to make contributions is your tax return filing deadline (not including extensions). See: Traditional and Roth IRAs
