For tax year 2024 are any charitable contributions allowed even if you take the standard deduction?

    No.  Charitable donations are only entered as an itemized deduction on Schedule A for tax year 2024.

    Providing the **bleep** form is added and available in this year's software.  Very disappointed!  May start filing with H&R.  Turbo tax sucks.  No CD and now holding out filings hostage... Disgusting.

    If you are referring to Form 8283, then according to the Forms Availability Table below, the Form 8283 is currently scheduled to become available for filing on 2/13/2025.    Dates in the table are subject to change.   Weekly TurboTax updates typically occur on a Thursday.

    But.....I'd enter them anyhow (as long as you use Deluxe or higher versions), since some states have different limits, and the charity data (if used by the state) transfers from the Federal section to the state section automatically.

     

    Of course, if your state doesn't have an income tax, that won't do anything, and probably not be worth the effort.
