Foreign tax credit Country of Residence

In 2023 I lived in abroad for the start of the year, then returned to the US in August.

I am filing with TurboTax and attempting to claim a credit for the Foreign Tax paid based on the tax I paid to the foreign country while I was abroad.

While doing this, TurboTax asks "What country were you a resident of for 2023?"

How do I answer this question?

Do I use the country I was in at the start of the year, or do I list United States since I returned at the end of the year?

Its not clear which form this answer affects, otherwise I could check the IRS documentation.

It is asking for the foreign country that you were a resident of for the first six months.
