Foreign Tax Credit. I am not allowed to take it? Never in the past! Did I put it in worng?

Did I put the credits in worng as I am not able to get the Foreign Tax Credit on my return?

Possibly. To enter this in TurboTax, it must be entered in two steps.

First, report it on the form as received.

Second, utilize the Jump to link described here: Where do I enter the foreign tax credit (Form 1116) or deduction for 2019?

Keep in mind, if you feel you have not received the foreign tax credit and you could have claimed it in the past, you can amend all "open years." That would mean you could amend 2016, 2017, and 2018. Click the link for more information on How do I amend a prior year?
