Hi,

I live in US and file US tax return, I have some company RSU stock sales which is listed on foreign exchange, so I paid foreign tax on my sales by foreign bank. I have no 1099-DIV for the foreign tax paid, How can I enter in turbo tax to claim the foreign tax credit? Turbox only pops up screen for foreign income reported on 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, and K-1

thanks

In the Search box type "foreign tax credit" (without the quotes), then click the link that says "Jump to foreign tax credit" and go through the screens. When it asks for the type of income select "Passive income." You will be able to enter the amount of income and the amount of foreign tax that you paid.

If you need further help with how to enter something, tell us whether you are using TurboTax Online or the CD/Download TurboTax software.

    thanks for help.

I am using home & biz Turbox Tax Mac desktop version.

In Turbox tax, I type Foreign tax credit. it came up virtual assistant, and it has no jump to foreign tax credit link

To enter Foreign taxes paid -

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
    Click on Deductions and Credits
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
On Foreign Taxes, click on the start or update button
