Form 8889 generated by TurboTax states I was on a Family HSA but I was on a self-only HSA. My answers to the HSA questions state I was single only. Seems like a TT error

This was not an input error by me. Even if I select I was on multiple types of HSA throughout the year and only check Self-only for every month on the next screen, the calculated max contribution limit shows $8300, which reflects a family HSA. Seems like an error in TurboTax...

If you are married and your spouse has a Family plan, then both of you are considered to be covered by a Family plan even if your own separate plan is Self-Only. 

 

From the IRS Publication 969 Health Savings Accounts and Other Tax-Favored Health Plans

 

"If either spouse has family HDHP coverage, both spouses are treated as having family HDHP coverage. If each spouse has family coverage under a separate plan, the contribution limit for 2024 is $8,300."

 

If this is the case for you, TurboTax is correct.  If this is not the case, let us know and we will take a closer look.
