Question

"Great news! You qualify for the Recovery Rebate Credit." ...However, when I press "Continue," the $2,400 credit is not adding to my total refund. Why?

The $2,400 may have already been included in your refund before you entered the stimulus payments you received.

 

You can look on line 30 of your tax return form 1040 to see if you have a recovery rebate credit, which would represent your stimulus payment included in your refund. You can review your form 1040 while in the online version of TurboTax as follows: 

  1. Tools
  2. Tax Tools (left side of the menu bar)
  3. View Tax Summary
  4. Preview my 1040 (left menu bar)
