I'm in the process of amending my 2021 return to take out the trust fund payment related to the 2017 fire. I can't get to Schedule 1 part 1 line z to take out the payment.

I assume you mean line 8z in Schedule 1 Part I. Are you saying that there is an entry on line 8z that you want to remove? I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "can't get to." The entry on line 8z probably comes from the Other Income Statement. Go to forms mode and open the Other Income Statement. You should be able to find the entry there and delete it. Deleting it from the Other Income Statement will remove it from Schedule 1.

If you still can't find it, what is the exact description on line 8z? If you see the amount on the Other Income Statement, but you can't delete it there, what line of the Other Income Statement is it on?

Yes it is 8z. At the time Turbo tax told me to put it on this schedule so there is no supporting schedule that it is posting from. The trust fund didn't issue a 1099.

I went to forms and downloaded Schedule 1 and went to 1040/1040 wks to delete the entries for both my spouse and me. I was assuming that the categories on the screen was the only way to get to the form.
