Handling Mortgage Interest when Moving from One State to Another

I lived in Wisconsin half the year and California the other half. I sold my home in Wisconsin before moving and purchased a home in California before the end of the year. Both homes were my sole/primary residence. My federal form includes the combined mortgage interest I paid in both states. Do I have to split out my mortgage interest on my state taxes or does Turbo Tax account for that based on the information from my 1098?

TurboTax will NOT know which 1098 went to which property in the two states.

You will need to allocate.
