Question

Hello. I'm starting a business and had expenses last in 2019 to start the business. Had my permit, not license until this year. Can I get credit for expenses?

Everything you spend before you open - usually - is start up expenses. Start up expenses are not claimed until the business is open.  If you never open, that is another story. Please see the links below for a full answer.

Here is an article that well describes everything related to start up costs.

An article for LLC start ups vs organizational costs.
