Hi, in my home page, its displayed as "$254 TOTAL 2018 TAX DUE", can you explain this $254 is due

Like I said it's just the combination of federal and state.  It is just the overall total for both.  It doesn't mean anything.  It is just for your info.

1,093 - 839 = 254.  After you get the 839 state refund and pay federal 1,093 you are 254 out of pocket.

Nobody can see your screen or your return.  Did you have a balance due on the tax return?

It might be the net combined of federal and state.  Look at the actual tax returns.

And Turbo Tax will always say the tax due or refund.  That is the result of the returns you filed.  It is not updated when you pay or get a refund.

My federal tax due is $1,093 which i have filed and payed electronically, and i was about get $839 refund for state. but in my "Tax Home" screen, its showing as "$254 TOTAL 2018 TAX DUE" so i got confused... Please explain and i am not able to reach turbotax customer support specialist

Like I said it's just the combination of federal and state.  It is just the overall total for both.  It doesn't mean anything.  It is just for your info.

1,093 - 839 = 254.  After you get the 839 state refund and pay federal 1,093 you are 254 out of pocket.

Do not get confused and think the state refund will go to the IRS and pay the federal tax due.  You have to pay the $1093 to the IRS and wait for the state refund of $839.
