We installed a new electric heat pump this year. The Lennox web site indicates that it is a model eligible for the

energy credit. However, I don't see where to enter it into the Turbo Tax program. The program offers categories such as geothermal heat pumps and solar heat pumps. Yet, when I google the credit it indicates that electric heat pumps are eligible. How can I enter it?

To enter Home Energy Credits -

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
    Click on Deductions and Credit
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
    Under Your Home
On Home Energy Credits, click the start or update button

Or enter home energy improvement in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to home energy improvement

On the screen Tell Us How Much You Paid for Energy-Saving Improvements -

Qualified energy property is any of the following.
    • Certain electric heat pump water heaters; electric heat pumps; central air conditioners; and natural gas, propane, or oil water heaters.

Enter the cost in the box labeled Energy-Efficient Building Property.

@DoninGA  My new gas, tankless hot water heater is eligible for a $300 tax credit.  I checked the IRS web site and the manufacturer's website to confirm.  There is no place to enter it.  The closest category is "Furnaces and hot water boilers powered by natural gas."  If I enter there, Turbo Tax only gives me $150.  How do I get my full credit?  I also have H & R Block software which has the specific category and gives me the full $300.  Thanks.
