There is a known problem with Home Mortgage Deduction. TurboTax is working to fix the problem and the many other issues. There are many changes due to the CARES Act that require software upgrades. We have not been given an expected date for the fix yet. Please check back often to see if you can file your return.

The beginning balance is not a part of the calculation unless your loan balance exceeds $750,000.00 That is a tracking amount for future refinances. If the amount of your deduction is the correct amount you might be able to proceed without error. If it generates an error you will need to wait for the fix to be completed.

I have the same problem!

It just won't let me enter the "Beginning Balance"...

I can't transmit my tax return unless they let me enter the numbers.

I am having the same issue, I cannot enter an amount and it wont let me bypass the error and transmit my efiles. Last day to submit taxes is tomorrow for a business... any work arounds or fix? Seems like this should have been corrected already.
