If you no longer have a 1098 Form, you simply will not enter any information for the mortgage interest statement in TurboTax when you prepare your tax return.

You can delete the input section as follows to remove the Mortgage interest information.

  1. Go to the federal section of the return
  2. Select Deductions & Credits
  3. Select Mortgage Interest and Refinancing (Form 1098)
  4. Click the trash can icon to the right of each mortgage lender on the screen titled Your 1098 info so far as shown in the sample below:

Delete 1098 info

Please be sure to report any real estate taxes paid as you may still be able to itemize your deductions.

  1. Go to the Federal section in the left panel
  2. Select Deductions & Credits
  3. Go to All tax breaks, select Your Home
  4. Select Property (Real Estate) Taxes
