How can I deduct property taxes on property that is not real estate - cars and motorcycles?

In order to deduct taxes on property such as cars and motorcycles you need to have total itemized deductions greater than your standard deduction.  To enter these expenses you will select the following:

  • Federal
  • Deductions and Credits
  • Show more next to Cars and Other Things You Own
  • Start next to Car Registration Fees

Only the portion of the registration fee that is based on the value of your vehicle is deductible.
