I misplaced the decimal point on my entry but Turbotax won't let me edit it

Yes, you can edit this as long as you have not filed your return.  If you have already filed, you will need to amend (see How to File an Amended Tax Return with the IRS)

If you would like to edit your entries for your property taxes, here is how to navigate and make the change:

    • If you have a mortgage and taxes are escrowed
      • Go to Federal > Deductions & Credits > Mortgage Interest and Refinancing (Form 1098)> Add/Edit
      • Choose your bank to expand
      • Select Edit
      • Continue until you get to the screen "Mortgage Interest and Refinancing (Form 1098)"
      • Correct the property taxes and continue
    • If you do not escrow property taxes
      • Go to Federal > Deductions & Credits > Property (Real Estate) Taxes)> Edit
      • Correct the amount and continue
