Question

How can I enter "Job Search costs" in the blank field on Schedule A, item number 21, so Form 2106 or 2106-EZ is not needed?

My accountant was able to do so in years past, but I am doing my tax using TurboTax for the first time this year.  Thanks.

TurboTax does not have the capability through normal data entry to include the job search costs directly on line 21 of Schedule A without voiding the Accurate Calculations guarantee.  You will need to enter the job search expenses through the entry screens for the Form 2106.

(In Forms mode, a direct entry can be made to that line, but it would be considered an override thus voiding the guarantee and disallowing electronic filing.)
