Question

How can we get credit for both children on stimulus checks? We only received credit for 1. Both children were on 2019 tax return

if you didn't receive what you think you are due, it will be reconciled as part of your 2020 tax return.

Answer the stimulus questions in the 'federal review' section of TT.  Then the amount you are due will be on Line 30 of Form 1040.  It will have the effect of increasing your refund (or reducing the tax you owe)

Note that if the child is 17 years old or older in 2020, they are not eligible for the payment.  maybe that is why there was no payment for them

further, it is critical that the check box to the RIGHT (way over to the RIGHT) next to your child name on Form 1040 is under the 'child tax credit'... if it is under the 'other dependent credit' column then the child is not eligible for the stimulus.  if you think that is incorrect, delete the child from MyInfo and re-enter the child's information.. Does that fix the problem?

post back if that doesn't work.
