Question

How do I edit my real estate tax amount. I typed in the incorrect amount.

1. If this is for your personal property, it goes on schedule A.

The best way to navigate quickly is with the magnifying glass/ search tool, Simply type in property tax

 

OR go back to the Deductions and Credits tab. Scroll down to Property (Real Estate) Taxes and click the EDIT button.

 

2. If this is for your rental property, use the magnifying glass/ search tool, Simply type in rental property 

 

OR go back to Income and Expenses. Scroll down to Rental Properties and click REVIEW. Go back through until you reach that section again and simply type in the correct number.

 

For complete steps: 

1. Log into your return

2. select Pick Up Where I Left Off

3. In the top right corner, locate the Magnifying glass/search  

4. enter the exact words property tax    (or rental property)

5. Enter

6. Select the first entry Jump to property tax    (or rental property)

7. Click review or edit.
