How do I file my work expense

Most W-2 employees cannot deduct out-of-pocket work expenses anymore.

However, the following workers can. 

• Armed forces reservists. 
• Qualified performing artists. 
• Fee-basis government officials. 
• Disabled employees with impairment-related work expenses.
• Educators.

 Follow these steps

1. Select Tax Tools
2. You may have to minimize the Federal and State sections
3. On the drop-down select Tools
4. There will be 3 green boxes
5. Select Topics Search
6. Under form number or a topic.
7. Type expenses or educator expenses
8. Continue through the questions and it will be posted to your return.
