How do i record expenses for book sales

I received royalties for book sales. How do I enter the expenses in my tax return

    You should have received a 1099-MISC for your royalties with the total amount that you received in Box 2.  In your federal return go to the 'Wages and Income' section and scroll down to '1099-MISC and Other Common Income'.  Click start next to 1099-MISC.  Then enter the information there.  The system will ask questions about the royalties and generate the necessary forms.
