1. Go to My Account in the top right corner

2. Click on Tools

3. Under Tools Center click Delete a Form

4.  Navigate to Form 8862 and select Delete next to it

If that does not work, try this:

1. Go to the search bar in the top right corner

2. Enter Earned Income Credit

3. Select Jump to Earned Income Credit

4. Answer No to the questions asking you if you want to claim EIC

I will try this shortly.

  • TurboTax Deluxe said I qualify for the EIC credit and gave me that credit (Even though I only receive SSD income).  Federal form went through with no errors.  But my state form is looking for the Employer ID for that income.  TurboTax won't let me delete the form. I am not able to, "delete the form" on the return to fix this. (When i do, it just shows up again).
  • On a side note, after reading the qualifications for this credit, why did TurboTax make me qualify for it?

Thank you,

Ray

You are correct that SSD does not qualify for the Earned Income Credit.

Do you have other income you are reporting on your return, like 1099-Misc or 1099-NEC for self-employment?

If not, and you're using TurboTax Online, try deleting both the Schedule EIC and the EIC Worksheet.

Then close TurboTax, clear your Cache and Cookies, and re-try filing your state return.
