A 1099-MISC is not issued for the sale of property. You might get a 1099-S. But you do not need any 1099 form to report the sale on your tax return. You can report it based on your own records of the amount that you received.

What property did you sell? If it was your primary home, and you qualified to excluded the entire gain, a 1099-S might not have been issued. In that case, you do not have to report the sale on your federal tax return. This applies only to the sale of your main home.

States might have different rules. You would have to check the rules for both the state that the property is in and the state that you were living in at the time of the sale.
