To file Form 8862, Information To Claim Certain Credits After Disallowance, you will need to be taking one of the following credits, the American Opportunity Credit, The Earned Income Credit, The Child Tax Credit, or the Credit for Other Dependents. 

 

When you go through the screens on one of these forms, you will see a box to check about Form 8862. Check the box and walk through the questions for this form. More info here.
