It depends on the type. Was it your personal primary home?

When you report the sale of your home in TurboTax, the interview process will ask about using your home for business in the past. This will allow the program to make adjustments for any deductions you received for your home office.

Enter a primary house sale under:

  • Federal Taxes (Personal in Home & Business)

  • Wages and Income (Personal Income in Home & Business)
  • Choose "I'll choose what I work on"
  • Scroll down to the last section - Less Common Income
  • Sale of Home - Click the Start or Update button
