My husband worked overseas all of 2015, his last pay came in January of 2016. The company is an American company and provided a W2 showing that final pay in 2016. How can I enter this as part of foreign earned income?

Try this, to enter your Foreign Earned Income:

  1. Go to Income

  2. Select I'll choose what I work on.

  3. Go down to Less Common Income

  4. Click Start or Update by Foreign Earned Income and Exclusion

  5. Select Yes by Did you make any money outside the U.S.?

  6. Check the box by A statement from my foreign employer (could be cash).

  7. Confirm your wages.

  8. Enter any Goods or Cash payments given to you by your provider.

After this, you get the screens that'll step you through the exclusion.
