how to enter a donation

I bought new school supplies and donated to 501-c3. I have my receipts to determine value. When I itemize, do I enter as "items" or "money"?? It's deductible is aimed toward used items.

Since you donated items to the charity, you should enter that you donated items. Keep your receipt to document the value of the items donated.

You can enter the donation directly into your return in the Charitable Donations section of your return. When you enter the details of the donation, select that you donated 'other personal property' and you valued it using the 'present value'.
