    Here’s how to enter it in TurboTax:

     

    1. Open or continue your tax return.
    2. Go to the Schedule C section:
      • TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to Schedule C.
      • TurboTax Desktop: Search for Schedule C and click the Jump to link.
    3. Answer any business questions until you reach the "Your self-employed work summary" screen. Select Edit or Review next to your business.
    4. You can enter your 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, 1099-K, cash, and personal check income before adding expenses, but this is not required.
    5. Select the expenses you had, including Home office. Choose any other expense categories that apply to your business, then select Continue.
    6. On the "Here's your type of work info" screen, scroll down to the Expenses section and select Start next to Home office.
    7. Enter the details about your home office.

    You can use the simplified method, which is $5 per square foot with a maximum of 300 square feet, or the actual expense method, which requires detailed records.
