How do I change my total HSA distributions so that it does not subtract from my total medical expenses?

You should not change the amount of your HSA distributions.  The amount of your HSA distributions are always deducted from your total deductible medical expenses.   This is because you used tax deferred when you paid for those expenses.  You already received a tax break because that money from your HSA was not taxed.  You may not deduct them off your income again; it is considered 'double dipping'.

Make sure to include all of these reimbursed expenses when you enter your medical expenses so that it is a wash.  If you do not include them and they are deducted also, then you will not get the proper deduction.
