HSA Employer contribution not reported on W2

I have an HSA which is a HDHP. I received a check from my employer to fund my entire HSA but it isn't listed on my W2. Is this contribution deductible? Do I enter it into TruboTax just like I made the contribution?

Thanks,

Brian

What you received from the employer sounds like supplemental wages that your employer was required to include in box 1 of your W-2.  If so, what you do with the funds is largely up to you, but if deposited into an HSA you would report this deposit as a personal HSA contribution.

If your employer did not include this amount in box 1 of your W-2 and also did not include it in box 12 with code W, your employer needs to correct your W-2.
