Enrolled in Medicare Part A in error October, 2018.  Unenrolled January 2019.  SS has not processed unenrollment yet.  Need tax return filing options for tomorrow April 15th deadline.

Enrollment made me ineligible for HSA contributions.  Not taking SS benefits and continuing to make HSA contributions.  SS office has advised that it is possible to unenroll.  I was not aware that unenrollment could take up to 6 months.

Unfortunately, as long as you continue to be enrolled in Medicare, you can't take the HSA contributions.  Since you were enrolled in Medicare for 3 months in 2018, you will have to remove the three months of HSA contributions from your HSA.  This should be handled through the HSA interview.  The removal of the excess contributions will be reported on your 2019 tax return.
