I accidentally selected itemized instead of standard for my deduction, how do I edit?

If your return has not been accepted by the IRS, then you can follow the directions in this TurboTax FAQ to switch from itemized deductions to the standard deduction. However, you should not do so if your filing status is married filing separately and your spouse itemizes deductions. In this case, the IRS requires you to claim itemized deductions.

Note: If your return has already been accepted by the IRS then you must file an amended return to switch to the standard deduction.
