Question

I am being told to confirm the credit type for a credit carryforward or carryback, but I don't know where this is coming from and I can't delete it. Any ideas?

I suggest you look at Form 1040, schedule 3 from 2023 to see if there are any credits listed there. Specifically, the foreign tax credit, residential energy credit, adoption credit and mortgage interest credit may have carryover amounts.
