Solved

I became a realtor in late 2017 and had business expenses throughout 2018 but have made no sales, so no income. Can I still deduct my business expenses?

If you actively work as a realtor but had no income, you can still deduct your business expenses. You will have a net self-employed loss. This loss can offset your other income if any.
