I bought a car in Dec 2020 and paid Registration fees in Jan 2021. which tax year will I include the registration on fee?

Since we are considered a cash basis taxpayer, meaning we can deduct expenses in the year that we paid them, you will not be able to take the registration fees that you paid in January 2021 on your 2020 income tax return. You will need to include that on your 2021 taxes.
