Question

I didn't receive any Child Tax Credit payments (although I'm eligible) and was told it would be possible to claim on this years tax return and receive payment? Where?

What box is checked under Dependents, middle of your 1040?  Over on the right is 2 boxes for Child Tax Credit and Other Dependents.  Which one is checked?  How old is your child?  Was he born in 2021?

Before filing you can preview the 1040 or print the whole return

Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number. If your child was born in 2021make sure you said he lived with you the whole year.  There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support.  Say NO to that question.

Look at form 1040 line 28  and make sure the amount is there before you e-File.

Always print a copy of your completed tax return for your records, and review it carefully before e-Filing.
You will need it if you are audited by the IRS, or to amend if a TurboTax update changes your return or for any other reason,

AND, to find your AGI next year.
