Question

I do not have a mortgage but the 1098 info still keeps popping up. What did I do wrong?

Property tax can be entered on the 1098 mortgage interest screen or in its own spot under deductions. I think you entered it in the wrong spot so the program is waiting for the mortgage interest. Go back to deductions and delete/ trash the 1098 section.

You may need to delete the form as well. If you are using:

    • Online: see How do I view and delete forms in TTO?
    •  Desktop: If you are working in the cd/download TurboTax program:
      1. On the top right, there is a FORMS button.
      2. Click on FORMS.
      3. Locate the form you want to delete.
      4. Click on the form name.
      5. Below the form, bottom left, select DELETE FORM button.

Once your program is clear of the 1098, go to property tax under deductions to enter the amount.
