HDHP refers to a High Deductible Health Plan, not whether or not you had insurance all year. A HDHP has a higher annual deductible than typical health plans and a maximum limit on the sum of the annual deductible and out-of-pocket medical expenses that the participant must pay for covered expenses. Out-of-pocket expenses include co-payments and other amounts, but do not include premiums.

If you are unsure of whether or not you have a HDHP, your insurance provider will be able to help.
